Dr. Barone welcomes referrals from primary care physicians, neurologists, pain physicians, surgeons, and rehabilitation specialists for epilepsy surgery, facial pain, tremor, deep brain stimulation, complex peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgery, spasticity, and pain neuromodulation.
Referrals we welcome
Primary care physicians
Facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia, tremor, neuropathic pain, back pain, spasticity, and patients who may need neurosurgical or neuromodulation evaluation.
Neurologists
Drug-resistant epilepsy, DBS candidacy for Parkinson's, essential tremor, and dystonia, and spasticity management.
Pain physicians
Neuromodulation, spinal cord stimulation, DRG stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, intrathecal pain pump evaluation, and complex neuropathic pain.
Orthopedic & hand surgeons
Brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries, nerve tumors, foot drop, and nerve reconstruction.
Plastic & reconstructive surgeons
Nerve transfers, nerve grafting, and complex peripheral nerve reconstruction.
Physiatrists & rehabilitation physicians
Spasticity after stroke or injury, baclofen pump candidacy, and functional nerve restoration.
Urgent: peripheral nerve & brachial plexus injuries
Nerve injuries are time-sensitive — the window for successful repair and nerve transfer is limited. For acute or non-recovering nerve and brachial plexus injuries, please refer early; call the office to expedite scheduling.
Referral checklist
To help us evaluate your patient efficiently, please include:
- ✓Patient name, date of birth, and contact information
- ✓Reason for referral and the clinical question
- ✓Relevant imaging (MRI/CT) and reports
- ✓EMG / nerve conduction or EEG / seizure-monitoring results
- ✓Operative notes from prior surgery, if any
- ✓Medications tried and the response
